Welcome to the next chapter in our Adventures Through Quilting series with Tiffany Cox of Fabric Creations by Tiffany. This time, we’re creating the whimsical and beautifully relaxed Tilt Around the Block quilt, designed to showcase Modern Prairie’s Daybreak on the Prairie fabric collection. 

This playful quilt embraces movement, softness, and imperfection in the very best way. The tilted blocks create a charming, hand-crafted look that feels fresh, approachable, and full of personality—perfect for quilters who want to build confidence while creating something truly beautiful.

Unlike traditional quilts where every seam must line up perfectly, Tilt Around the Block celebrates creativity and flow. The angled blocks and relaxed layout make this an enjoyable and forgiving project while still teaching important quilting skills and techniques along the way.

This course begins on June 1st, with the first pre-recorded lesson released that morning, followed by our first live Zoom session on June 5th.

• You are comfortable using a rotary cutter, ruler, and mat
• You want to create a quilt with a whimsical, relaxed feel
• You’d like additional guidance on cutting, piecing, sashing, borders, and assembling rows

What’s Included?

The Tilt Around the Block Pattern

As part of the course, you’ll receive Tiffany’s custom Tilt Around the Block pattern designed specifically for Modern Prairie fabrics. This beginner-friendly quilt finishes at approximately 82” x 82” and is designed to highlight jelly roll-style strip collections beautifully.

Daybreak on the Prairie Fabric Bundle

Included with your course is a curated fabric bundle, or Rolie Polie, featuring our Daybreak on the Prairie collection, designed to bring softness, light, and movement into your quilt.

5–6 Pre-Recorded Lessons

Each Monday, Tiffany will guide you through the quilt step-by-step with easy-to-follow video instruction. Lessons are designed to help you confidently complete your quilt top while learning foundational quilting techniques along the way.

Weekly Zoom Check-Ins

Need additional guidance? Join Tiffany weekly for live Zoom sessions on Friday afternoons where you can ask questions, troubleshoot challenges, and connect with fellow quilters.

• Background fabric (3 1/4 yards)
• Sashing fabric (1 1/4 yards)
• Cornerstone fabric (1/4 yard)
• Optional border fabrics:
  • Inner border: 1/2 yard
  • Outer border: 1 1/4 yards
• Backing fabric:
  • 5 yards of 44” fabric OR
  • 2 1/2 yards of 108” wide backing
• Binding fabric (3/4 yard)

Sewing Supplies:

• Sewing machine with 1/4” presser foot
• Rotary cutter, quilting ruler, and cutting mat
• Neutral thread
• Pins or clips
• Seam ripper
• Iron and ironing board
• 12 1/2” squaring ruler (recommended)
• Fabric scissors
